Napak Residents Sensitized On Court Processes

On Thursday November 2, 2023, HW Emmy Sayekwo, Ag. Deputy Registrar Moroto High Court Circuit, led a team of Judicial Officers in sensitizing communities in Napak District about the court processes and the formal justice system as a whole.
HW Sayekwo, who was representing the Moroto Resident Judge, engaged the local communities and their local leaders at Apeitolim Sub-county, approximately 120km from Moroto District.
Most of the members of the communities said this was a first of its kind as they had never experienced any court sensitization.
The purpose of the engagement was to popularize the newly operationalized Napak Magistrates Court which is under the leadership of Magistrate Grade I, HW Juma Ssenoga.
HW Sayekwo was joined by community leaders who urged the communities not to take matters of the law in their hands but rather seek redress from established structures such as courts.
The area Local Chairperson III, Advocate Auma Gloria, Napak Principal Assistant Secretary and the Community Development Officer were in attendance.
